Cars leave China two ways: RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) and container. Each has a trade-off between price, protection and schedule.
RoRo
The vehicle is driven onto a dedicated car carrier. Usually the cheapest per unit and the fastest to load, but departure dates are fixed and you cannot ship personal effects inside.
Container
The car is secured inside a 20ft or 40ft container. More protection and flexible, and you can add parts or a second vehicle — at a higher per-unit cost.
