Belarus (EAEU): the inland rail route explained
Same EAEU duty basis as Russia
Belarus applies the EAEU per-cm³ used-car duty rather than a percentage, with 20% VAT on top. Because the duty scales with engine size and age, the model choice drives the landed figure more than the freight does.
Rail, not sea
For Belarus the practical route is the China–Kazakhstan rail corridor into Brest, which is why inland delivery is often faster than it looks. Cars are loaded from the Tianjin yard and move by rail rather than by RoRo.
Registration paperwork
As elsewhere in the EAEU, an ЭПТС electronic passport and a СБКТС conformity certificate are required for road registration; arrange them on the Belarus side.
The China-side document set
We issue the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin against the rail waybill, so the Belarus-side ЭПТС and СБКТС steps have matching paperwork to work from.

- Is there an age limit for importing used cars into Belarus?
- Belarus currently has no strict age limit on used-car imports.
- What duty and taxes apply on import into Belarus?
- Belarus applies the EAEU common rates for personal-use cars (EAEU Council Decision 107, 20 Dec 2017, Appendix 2, Table 2). Cars 3-5 years old: EUR 1.5/cm3 (up to 1000cc), 1.7 (1001-1500), 2.5 (1501-1800), 2.7 (1801-2300), 3.0 (2301-3000), 3.6 (over 3000). Cars over 5 years: EUR 3.0, 3.2, 3.5, 4.8, 5.0 and 5.7/cm3 respectively. A customs processing fee and a utilization (recycling) fee also apply.
